What Are Stainless Steel Skirting Profiles?
Stainless steel skirting profiles are a decorative baseboard that covers the joint between the wall and the floor. Because they are formed from 304 or 316 stainless steel rather than timber or PVC, they resist rust, moisture, impact and everyday wear, and they keep a clean, contemporary appearance in busy interiors. WEIHAO METAL manufactures a snap-on skirting system that fits directly over the wall edge without a backing board.
Materials and Finishes
- 304 stainless steel — the standard choice for interior decoration, with strong resistance to rust and stains.
- 316 stainless steel — adds molybdenum for higher corrosion resistance in humid, coastal or high-humidity projects.
- Finishes — brushed, mirror, frosted and sandblasted, each available with a fingerprint-resistant nanolayer that reduces smudges, dirt and water marks.
Specifications
Stainless steel skirting is supplied in six standard heights from 4 cm to 12 cm, each 11 mm wide and 2.44 m long, so profiles can be cut on site to suit the room. The full model list, including height, packaging and weight per metre, is shown in the Specifications tab above; dimensions can be confirmed against the drawings in the Dimensions tab.
Applications
- Residential interiors — living rooms, bedrooms and corridors
- Hotels, serviced apartments and offices
- Retail stores, showrooms and shopping malls
- Airports, metro stations and other public spaces
- Hospitals, laboratories and kitchens, where easy cleaning and moisture resistance matter
Installation
The snap-on design keeps installation simple: measure the wall, cut each profile to length, fix the base clip, then press the skirting into place. No wooden backing board is needed, which shortens project time and avoids the warping and moisture problems associated with timber baseboards. Adhesive or mechanically fixed systems can also be specified for particular substrates.
Customization and Supply
Heights, finishes, colours and cut lengths can be produced to order, and OEM and ODM projects are welcome. Each profile is protected with film and packed in cartons, with 20 to 30 pieces per box depending on height. Frequently Asked Questions
What are stainless steel skirting profiles made of?
Our skirting profiles are made from 304 or 316 stainless steel. 304 is used for standard interior decoration, while 316 adds molybdenum for extra corrosion resistance in humid or coastal environments.
Can stainless steel skirting be installed without a backing board?
Yes. WEIHAO skirting uses a snap-on system that fixes directly to the wall edge, so no wooden backing board is required. This saves installation time and avoids warping or moisture damage.
What finishes and sizes are available?
Profiles are available in brushed, mirror, frosted and sandblasted finishes with an optional fingerprint-resistant coating. Standard heights run from 4 cm to 12 cm in 2.44 m lengths; custom heights and cut lengths can be produced to order.
Is 304 or 316 stainless steel better for bathrooms and kitchens?
For wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens and coastal projects we recommend 316 stainless steel, which offers higher resistance to chloride and moisture than 304.
